This past week tragedy struck our youth hockey community with the passing of Henry Lent, a 2007-born skater from Finksburg, MD.
Lent was a member of the NorthStar Elite program, a high level spring and summer organization co-founded and coached by Justin Friedman, a member of the New Jersey Junior Titans (NAHL) scouting department and co-founder of the New Jersey 87’s (EHL).
The Henry Lent Memorial Fund has been organized in support of the Lent Family.
According to the memorial fund page, Lent collapsed while at a hockey clinic “and suffered a catastrophic brain injury.” The cause of this tragic incident is still unknown.
Since Lent’s passing, coaches and teammates have paid tribute to the beloved young skater.
The Shore Hockey Report family sends its thoughts and prayers to the Lent family, as well as his teammates and coaches.
