MIDDLETOWN, NJ – Following three seasons at the North American Hockey League (NAHL) level with the New Jersey Junior Titans, former High School South star, Gavin Gulash, recently announced his commitment to NCAA Division I Robert Morris University.
Gulash, a native of Iowa who relocated to Middletown before the start of his freshman year, found a home in the Middletown South hockey program, and developed into one of the Eagles all-time greats, registering 124 career points (63g, 61a) over four varsity seasons. Gulash was named to the Asbury Park Press All-Shore Conference team as a senior in 2016-17 after delivering 33 points (17g, 16a) in an injury-shortened season. Despite the setback, the winger still helped the Eagles to a state semifinals appearance, a game in which he delivered two goals against Wall Township.

Staying Home to Play Junior Hockey
Following his scholastic career, Gulash, who played his youth hockey with the New Jersey Jr. Titans, stayed home to compete at the major junior level with Titans’ NAHL affiliate.
In three season with Titans, Gulash logged 94 points in 148 games, and posted six goals and two assists in 10 NAHL playoff games in 2018-19.
Though he chose to develop in the NAHL, Gulash had the eye of organizations in the United States Hockey League (USHL). Gulash was selected in the 2016 USHL draft by his former hometown club, the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, before the Green Bay Gamblers chose him in the 2018 entry draft.

Gulash is one of many New Jersey Junior Titans skaters to announce NCAA commitments this year, including Wall Township High School alum and former Shore Conference Player of the Year, Shane Haviland.
