An officer’s job is never done, not even when he’s competing in a men’s league game.
Such was the case for Manchester Police Officer Brian Volk, who saved the life of a fellow skater on Wednesday evening while the two were competing in a league game at the Winding River Skating Center in Toms River.
According to a post on the Manchester Police Department Facebook Page, Volk administered life-saving CPR to a player who was suffering an apparent hear attack.

“The man collapsed on the ice at the Winding River Park rink during the hockey game, at which time and without hesitation, Officer Volk, an eight year veteran, controlled the scene and immediately began CPR,” read the Facebook post on the official Manchester Police page.

The Facebook report also read that the man Officer Volk administered CPR to was transported to the hospital and is currently recovering.
