As a senior, Chris Stefanowicz helped Jackson Liberty deliver its first Division Championship in program history.
Three years later the former Shore Conference standout was part of another first, this time on the lacrosse field, where his Cabrini University Cavaliers earned the program’s first ever NCAA Division III National Championship with a 16-12 victory over Amherst.
After a promising freshman campaign at Cabrini, Stefanowicz suffered a season-ending injury as a sophomore, and spent his junior year fighting to get back into action. He appeared in 10 games and scored one goal in 2019.
Despite an injury that kept him off the pitch last season, Stefanowicz continued to star in the classroom, earning Colonial States Athletic Conference All-Academic honors in business management studies.
Though it’s been some time since he was between the pipes for Jackson Liberty, the Lions will never forget Stefanowicz stellar senior season, in which he posted an .892 save percentage and a 2.30 goals-against average on the way to a 14-6-3 record. Stefanowicz also landed All-Class B South Division honors.
